Audi R8 V10 GT Officially Revealed

Over the past couple of weeks there was a lot going around about Audi’s new 2011 design in their R8 series. Well as of a couple days ago they have officially revealed this beauty. A couple of the changes that where made are that they managed to shave off over 220 pounds and they increased the HP of the car.

In order to shed so much weight they did a couple of things such as making the front windshield thinner as well as replace the rear hatch with lightweight polycarbonate. Also used was thinner metals and they also added some body cuts to the car for a little more weight loss.

As for under the hood they decided that with the shaved weight a little more power would be nice so they upped the V10′s output to 560 HP. This gives the car a 0-62 of 3.6 seconds and up to 124 in only 10.8 seconds. Also the new R8 tops out at 198.84 mph, not that you’ll ever need to go that fast, but it’s definitely nice knowing that you can.
